Some great thoughts, I'm
Some great thoughts, I'm looking forward to your take on an existing house... I've lived in some pretty inefficient houses. The book look interesting too. Did you say that you like McMansions???

Nicely written Mike, we are Nicely written Mike, we are in the process of considering our options for a house. I look at the new construction and it makes me wonder if these houses are going to last much beyond their 10 year warranty? Its scary to think you can invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in something that is neither sustainable or well built.

No I don't like
No I don't like McMansions, nor am I advocating them. Thanks for you comments, it'll be another day till my next post is up, I'm toast! Think I needing to catch up on some sleep following my weekend away at Northern Voice, (and the 1400 km I drove too!).

Hi Mike,
I'm glad our book Hi Mike,

I'm glad our book is on your wish list. Admittedly, I'm a bit biased (I work in the office of one of the authors), but it really is a great book. It's only been out 6 months and it's already in it's third printing.

If folks want to get a good sense of the book (to see if it might be helpful to them), they can check out the book website at www.naturalremodeling.com. They can also learn more about my favorite eco-geek, architect and author - Kelly Lerner at www.one-world-design.com.

And Mike I'd appreciate it if you'd go to our book website and send us an email via the Contact Us page (be sure to identify yourself).

Thanks Deborah, I'm excited
Thanks Deborah, I'm excited to see books like this out and getting good publishing runs. I'd be interested to see cold climate solutions to minimise winter heating consumption. I have a lot of experience in warmer climates, (Australia) where summer heat drives the majority of design decisions. Living in the Kootenays in BC, Canada now, we get both extremes, up to 3 feet of snow on the ground and temperatures of below -20 celcius, or 40+ degrees in summer.
