Rossland Presentations

by Mike on February 8, 2008

People must be getting tired of the snow, it seems like everyone is in the mood to think about the big picture of what is happening in and around Rossland. Last night over a hundred Rosslanders attended retired Engineer Ken Holmes’ presentation on his concerns regarding the infrastructure in the City of Rossland…

Rossland Record - Standing room only for Holmes’ infrastructure analysis (Subscription Required)

For an hour and a half Holmes walked people through his analysis, showing them how he reached the conclusion that sewer and water and other infrastructure costs charged to developers (DCCs) should be around $14,000 per new house for both Rossland and regional services.

And next Tuesday night, Red Mountain Resort will be publicly presenting their proposed Golf Course development.

Four Seasons Master Plan Presentation

Come to a presentation of Red Mountain Resort’s Four Season Master Plan. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Rossland Secondary School Auditorium. An overview of the proposed golf course architecture, environmental assessment, water management and tourism opportunities will be presented followed by a public question and answer session.

It’s great to see community engagement and involvement continuing past the “Visions to Actions” Strategic Sustainability Plan process that has been so successful in distilling the needs and desires of the community into a plan and a vision to guide the City’s decision-making into the future. (You can download the final Plan as a pdf at this link).
