Rossland Winter Carnival

The City held it’s 111th Rossland Winter Carnival this weekend. Toboggans, ski races, slopestyle competitions, Ice Bar, snow volleyball, and much more.

This is a real family event run by volunteers from the community, with a lot of history. Apparently in the early days of the carnival, invitations were sent out to such celebrities as the Mayor of Seattle.

Today, we have celebrities as numerous as the "alcoholics" toboggan team and the golfer disillusioned by the proposed development in the City.

The toboggan in this photo was clocked at 85km an hour, plenty fast enough for me. And just for extra kicks, here are two videos, the first one is short, the second one is longer, but worth it for the last crash.
