Fall is definitely in the air this weekend as the snow line descends below 2000m on the mountains around us.
At the top of Mount Revelstoke National Park, this fire tower stands as a reminder of an age of fire spotting that has been passed by technology. These days, fire spotting planes follow routes derived from lightning strike data, increasing the chances of early intervention.
Just in time for the start of #autumn, we woke up today to the first #snowfall for the season on the #mountains around #Revelstoke. Hard to get a good photo with the #clouds at #dusk.
Living in #Revelstoke, we are surrounded by #mountains and #lakes, making transportation challenging at the best of times. Heading south, toward #Nakusp and #Nelson, you may have to endure long ferry line ups, particularly in Summer – but the views can be amazing! Published via Pressgram
